It's not for the faint of heart, the indecisive or the timid. There are days when I want to kick butt, spit at a passing car, go to sleep, say screw it all, and curl up next to an unopened bottle of scotch. Problem, I don't really drink, and I can't afford to waste the money.
Then I realize life has gotten me to this point. All the experiences, all the crazy-azz people, the patience, the betrayal, 'the Lord just let me get through this', the victories, the learning, the headaches have all prepared me for the uphill battle.
My Pastor says that 'life' prepares us for the next level, if we're willing to open our eyes to the vision and climb.
Like I used to tell my son, not only am I all woman, but I'm a mommy for the job ! That mommy (thank you God) has seen him to his 22nd.. birthday. It' 'MY TIME NOW !'
I sacrificed, put my wants and needs in a jar entitled "Someday", and like many single-moms put that jar away. Well I've dusted that sucker off, used a can opener, yanked the lid open, added to the original ideas and said - What the Hell ! We're either gonna sink or swim. My optimistic nature says swim.
Through the murky, the dark, the weeds pulling you back when the lighthouse is in view, but swim we will. We will make it to the distant shore of success, arrive on that opposing shore, crawl, walk, whatever and do a victory leap in the sand of success.
Play time is over folks, no more freebies, no more uncompensated hook-ups, no more free consultations. Bills to pay, biz to build, ideas to develop, things to try out, and as my numbers guy says, 'people only respect what they pay for'.
I haven't been dozing, haven't bowed out or changed my mind, just waiting, watching, making sure all is in order to rise!
My Biz advisor tells me that most businesses fail because they're not prepared for their success, not because they didn't have a good idea.
To rise, like the Phoenix, some things had to be shed. Changes had to be made. We learn, grow, develop, and become something, a bit different, but a hell of a lot better !
